As someone who recently transitioned into interior design full-time after coming from a 10 year career in tech, this is the best book I have read on the business of interior design by far. It is up-to-date with relevant advice for the digital age, and the questions that Kim asks in the exercises are thought-provoking. It's clear she has a really firm understanding of marketing for interior design. After reading this book on a 4 hour flight, I came away with pages of notes for updating my website and social media channels. The interviews with top designers are also incredibly inspiring!
Kim's advice for designers is straightforward and actionable. So many "advice" books for designers is just fluff, ideas with no real take aways. Surprisingly good insight about branding for creative professionals (not just interior designers, per se). Ms. Kuhteubl provides a clear and structured approach as well as a great insight and historical information about the history of interior design in the US.Highly recommend this book.
